2 Day Cape Tribulation & Atherton Tablelands Tour Itinerary
Explore two of Cairns’ must-visit destinations in one fun-filled tour with our 2-Day Cape Tribulation & Atherton Tablelands Tour. You’ll spend day one chasing waterfalls and swimming in the stunning waterholes of the Atherton Tablelands before heading north into the Daintree Rainforest on day two. Including meals, accommodation at a local eco-lodge and unique activities including a night canoe, this tour is the best way to discover all the natural wonders Tropical North Queensland has on offer.
Day One (lunch and dinner)
Climb aboard the bus in Cairns and say g’day to your guide and fellow travellers as we start our journey out to Atherton Tablelands. Be sure to bring your swimming gear because day one is all about discovering the spectacular waterfalls and swimming holes the area is famous for.
First up is Millaa Millaa Falls, a postcard worthy waterfall that’s so perfect it’s a tropical cliché. Enjoy a swim behind the waterfalls and get your iconic hair flick photo for the ‘gram before we head to Josephine Falls, natures own waterslide! We’ll take a walk at Babinda Boulders, where your guide will share information about these unique rock formations and you can enjoy, yep, another swim!
Lunch is a yummy 2-course lunch in a beautiful setting before we check out Lake Eacham. This volcanic crater lake is the perfect spot for another swim, and maybe even spot an elusive platypus. As the sun begins to set, we’ll make our way to our accommodation and enjoy dinner. But before you turn in, enjoy the unique opportunity to spot nocturnal animals and appreciate the unbeatable night sky with a night canoe tour.
Day Two (breakfast & lunch)
Day two sees us head north into the wild regions of Cape Tribulation and the Daintree Rainforest. We make some stops along the way for photos at stunning lookout points and enjoy morning tea amongst the palm trees at Port Douglas’s 4-Mile Beach.
We’ll cross the Daintree River and head into the rainforest but not before a fascinating wildlife boat cruise. As you meander down the calm waters of the Daintree River, hear all about the local saltwater crocs from your knowledgeable skipper and keep an eye out for them hiding in the mangroves.
We stop for a local lunch and check out the pristine Cape Tribulation Beach before exploring the rainforest with a guided bushwalk. There’s one more chance for a swim at a secluded swimming hole before we start making our way back to Cairns. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled along the way for a cassowary!
